Your smallest muski

I'm curious why more bass anglers don't hook up with smaller muskies?? I've never even seen a picture of a small muski...except wolfes, but that was a tiger.
Where do these fish hang out and why aren't more of them caught?

Markus,
I just looked through my Muskies Canada photo archive, and I found this picture, which is by far the smallest muskie I have ever seen:

36" is my smallest, and it was caught while bass fishing. In fact, all of my muskies were caught bass fishing. Kinda makes me wonder why I torture myself fall fishing.
Hmm, can't seem to catch any bass though.

M.T. maybe you should fish for muskie, then you might catch some bass. Works for me.

Why aren't more of these caught on the Rideau and Ottawa? You'd think that bass anglers bouncing tubes and twisters day in and day out would hook quite a few of these.
I know you see a lot of hammer handle pike. What's the difference in behavior?

Thanks for reminding the entire board that my fish was a
mini-muskie of 26".

It packed a lot of power and thrills into its small frame, let me say!
My brother has lots of larger muskies to talk about, but he also got a tiger on Otisco that was around 19-20". My husband got a 27 incher this past Sept.
Good question, though, about where those junior muskies hang out & why it seems more aren't caught. Maybe they are and people just don't brag about them (unlike me).
Hawg Wobbler, didn't your sister catch her first muskie this summer; a good looking, but modest sized one? I think you posted a pic...(was it the same day your girlfriend got that KILLER HUGE one?)

Wolfe,
My sister caught a 28" muskie that day. Don't worry, it's included in the poll.

I caught one that was 10 inces a few years ago at long Island. I was using a floating Rapela and just twitching it over weeds. cute little thing and hit the bait real hard.
I was also there a few weeks ago and I helped some guy net one that was under 20" .

I caught one this year on the Ottawa River at Des Chenes Rapids that was about 10 -12 inches on a 3/8 oz spinner bait. I thought I had weeds until I felt these tiny little tugs. The kids liked it. Amazingly it had some impressive teeth for it's size.
