E-Licence's

Well I still haven't recieved my new 3 year hunting/fishing Outdoors card that I renewed on line. THis system however is the best and so easy to use.

Just a little something I did that I thought I'd pass on...

I printed off a bunch of extra copies my reciept and E-licience and put them in zip lock bags. I stashed one in each of my boats, 1 in my gun case, 1 in my float suit and 1 in my hunting coat.

Might come in handy some day if I forget the walllet in the truck or at home. Ya never know. CO's are generally good people, but the $130 fine can burn, as some have recently experienced. Now this still might not get you out of a pickle, but it just may be enough to help him let you off if you've been forgetful.

It seems strange that if i get stopped by the police and i don't have my drivers license they give you 24 hours to present it.. I wonder why a fishing license doesn't have the same rule but they hit you with a $130 fine there and then.

John, I think the 24 hours is a courtisy....I don't believe they have to extend that to you.

CO's can be convinced to extend the same courtisy if you ask nicely and catch them in a nice mood. I know. haha. :P

Probassing and I were going out fishing on Mississippi Lake and we were stopped at the boat launch by a concervation officer and he asked us to show him our licenses. I had mine but Probassing had just cleaned out his wallet and failed to put it back in his wallet. Probassing called home and his wife found it on his dresser, she read the number to the conservation officer and he said that was good enough. Markus, I have to admit I like your idea though!!! I always leave mine in my boat but I have forgotten it once or twice when going in someone else's boat.

i just received my new card and it clearly states that you MUST be
in possesion of the card at all times.
so a photo copy might get you off if the CO is in the festive mood

Just another quick note.

I carry the GF's Lic. when we fish, Got stopped by a C.O. one day, I showed him both Lic. He told me that I was not allowed to carry her Lic. for her, it has to be on her persons or she could be charged and I could be charged for possesion of 2 Lic. No fine this time, but now the old girl has to carry her own Lic.

I know this is being picky, but the law clearly states you are only allowed to be in possesion of 1 lic. i also use to carry both lic. when we were hunting, but not anymore. Not worth the risk of a fine, I value my Hunting and fishing privledges to much, to risk losing them.

My wife firmly believes that this law is just too picky......she goes on to ask if the law makers have any idea how hard it is to find a purse that matches both her life-jacket and her spinning combo.........

Hang in there Markus.

I found the whole online renewal experience went really well and the speed at which my lisence arrived was amazing.

Good idea with the photocopying though... might save a few buckerooos from disappearing from my wallet should I run into Smokey the Bear with an Attitude.

I'm sure if she called Baitcasters, or Paddletales, they could hook her up with a real purdy one. :D :D

It doesn't make you legal, but it might help..can't hurt.

As for the purse, tell her to get a coat that matches the tackle box. :P
