Ahhhhhhhhhhh Thanks for posting that pic Niagara Nick it's been a while since I've seen that whirlpool. It brought a smile to my face. I have a few fishing memories from there.

Yes, I do now!! I had forgotten all about it until you just now mentioned it. My friend in Hamilton introduced me to the whirlpool. We would park in a nearby park and walk down. I enjoyed the walk until we started back up. Wheww!! I can't imagine walking up and down in any amount of snow or ice on the ground.

Brings back memories for me too

STAIRS, WHAT STAIRS
Just used to be an old dirt path when we used it. Haven't been down that way in maybe.....10yrs, no,...20yrs, no.....ah crap*, a long time ago. We'd go down that path, walk the gorge and come back up at the glen. Now that was fun.
*(seems to be a popular word here lately).....had to fit it in somewhere

sguig69 Take the QEW, just past ST Catherines take the Queenston Leweston Bridge cut off . Just before the border you will see the sign the Niagara parkway , go to the stop sign turn right , drive for 2 or 3 km you will see the Whrilpool golf course on the right , just past the club house you will see a small parking lot on the left , park there. Walk out to the path go right. walk about 150feet you will see the path going down to the Whrilpool.
If you want to avoid a long walk ,turn left at the Niagara parkway follow that road when you go down a long step hill look for dumfries (spelling)?street follow that to the end . This is to the Queenston docks
I'm not trying to be a smart butt sguig69 BUT it can be very dangerous at the whrilpool and the glen , hard walk, slippery rocks , water levels can go up a few feet in minutes, and in the glen I've seen rocks the size of cars roll into the water .
Take a friend with you . Hope this helps . Here's a few more pics. If anyone else wants to add to this feel free

That cutoff before the the bridge that goes to the Parkway and Queenston is no more, has been since last sumer, you have to get off at Stanley Ave. At least it was yesterday!

2nd stop/yield sign it's 4th road on right straight down, you will see a parking lot, then theres a road on the left, ramp down there, the docks are out. Look before you start down that last hill, could be icy and theres guys taking runs at the hill hauling there boats up. We don't need to get stop half way up the hill. Backing a boat down an icy hill it no fun at all!

Thank's for the pic of those endless stairs darn..it

skooter those stairs are all i've ever known and this going back about 15 years or so. A friend of mine who has a beautiful rainbow on the wall still mutters a few choice words about hauling that fish up the gorge

We all took turns luggin her to the top..... C&R never felt better after that
