Fish'n Canada Yesterday - How cool was that?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Fish'n Canada Yesterday - How cool was that?

Post by Snag »

Did anyone watch the episode of Fish'n Canada they played on OLN yesterday?

They were fishing for Walleye and Pike in Pilot Lake and Angelo's walleye got hit by a pike while he reeled it in.

I know this has happen to some people on the board, but I've never seen it happen (other then in pics). Very cool to watch. I'm glad I taped the episode while I was at work, some of my friends will get a kick out of seeing that!

Snag, I saw it yesterday. That happened to me some years ago at the culverts at Petrie Island. A fat pike sideswiped my walleye but let go after a rather short but exciting battle.

Even cooler with Angelo's fish from yesterday's episode is that the pike actually held on long enough to be netted. Quite the stubborn fish!

I guess im lucky! Ive seen about a 3lb cat hit hard in constance bay... and I have also had a scrappy little smallie just get nailed by a muskie at Black Rapids!

It is pretty cool!

I had probably a 50 inch musky grab hold of a walleye last year! The thing was massive.. and all sudden there's no weight, and up comes a torn up 10 inch walleye. lol

Didnt see this episode but have witness this myself. I was fishing witha buddy in a pike tourney in elephant lake when he hooked a 2 or 3 pound pike was reeling in and i looked down to she this pike get smacked right across his face by a muskie close to 50" i guessed it pulled for about 15' and the let go. The pike was mangled from this attack, its one side of it face was completely peeled and shreeded and one eye was gone completely. I saw the whole thing from start to finish, so exciting i still see it everytime im bring in a small pike(in my head).

Big pike eat lititle pike, too. I was reeling in a hammer handle a few years ago in that little lake by the road outside Beachburg. His great great granddaddy came out of the weeds right at my feet, grabbed him crossways and took him home for dinner.

Tyler caught his best pike to date (almost 27") while reeling in an average sized rockbass. The pike nailed it and wouldn't let go; it ended up getting entangled in the line (wrapped around it's head, mouth and gill plate) so that we could net it close to the boat. We got the pike in, but the rockbass flipped back off into the lake! Poetic Justice, or what??!! It was all very exciting, because we could see much of the battle play out, being it was in fairly shallow, clear water.

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

One of my goals this year will be to catch one of these attacks on video. I've seen it quite a bit wallie fishing the Ottawa! Image

They always seem to take 'em broadside, guess they don't want to miss :!:

Never had that happen but 3 times i've had 2 fish hook up on one lure(crank). Twice it was 2 aggressive smallmouth Bass and once a smallmouth and a Sheephead. Sort of cool watching 2 fish tug against each other try to gain possetion of what they thought was food. regards Snidley

Every Saturday am between the times 9-12 flip between the channels 18 (CH), 30 (TSN), and 56 (OLN). I think sometimes the New RO plays some fishing shows too.

You can also look it up here: http://entertainment.msn.com/tv/guide/

I saw it and it was crazy!

This pike just slammed the walleye and did not let go. He was actually able to net both the walleye and the pike :!:
