FISHING WITH MARKUS
Fishing with Markus
I thought I would write this after spending three days as Marks guest, at his house.
I’m not too sure how many people Mark and Alison has played host to in the last year,
But it has been a lot. Fishing with Mark is a adventure, as I’m sure the people that have been out with him can testify, he has taken many people out to catch there first fish of any certain Species…. i.e. Gar, Rainbow, Lakers, Salmon…and the list goes on. He has cooked for us, been our guide, host, storyteller, he has the greatest sense of humor, kept the mood in boat up beat and fun when the fishing was slow…. a perfect host and guide…. For some unknown reason…people on other boards have labeled Mark as a troublemaker…. these people are WRONG, and are grossly misinformed. If they ever took the time to meet Marcus, they would realize how wrong they really are. I remember when Markus first started to post on this site, the pictures of all the Rainbows and Lakers he was holding, salmon by the score and with every post was a open invitation to come out and fish with him, some hawkers were smarter than others and jumped at the chance to experience big water fishing and a great host, it took some of us over a year to take advantage of this generous offer and fish with this great Guy! To the rest of you if you get a chance to fish with Marcus…take it, whether it be at a fish hawk get together, or making the trip to his home waters, it will be a experience of a life time
Mark and Alison…thank you so very much for the great time, you two, are the greatest.

Thanks Big-O. I really do appreciate that.
I'll admit, I was a bit puzzled by my new found friend and the lengths he's gone through to let it be known, but I don't take it too serious. I have a job to here on FH and not everyone is going to argree with the rules we have developed to govern this site. When they disagree with the rules that I uphold, they tend to disagree with me. I've learned not to take that personal.
Having folks come down and visit me is a pretty special thing. I've enjoyed all the company that I've had the privilege to fish with. I have an open door policy here for all hawk talkers and I'm looking forward to meeting more new faces this season.

Markus is a great guy. finally met him and have talk on line with him . Learned a few things that have helped. He also found a seat for me to experience the Niagra fish. I live 45 minutes away from it and didn't realize the potential of it. I have been offered a boat ride with him. I hope to get it when the waters warmer

One thing people have to get over!!!! There are rules here and Mark was put into a position to enforce these rules! If ya don't break them..No problem..if ya do...don't be upset with Mark for enforcing them!! He is not the one who broke them and I do know he always gives the benefit of the doubt to everyone...some continue to do the same thing over and over....Why? Then they get mad at the rules being enforced...Why? Mark is a pretty good guy like Big O Said...very receptive, friendly out going...his whole family is like that...
People seem to have aproblem with him because he has to enforce rules, well I tell ya this site is much better because ofthose rules and even more because he stepped up to enforce them. It put a target on his back he did not need but he lived with it for a site he believes in.
I think a huge thank you is in order and I just hope people will follow the rules cause if they do they can't get mad at anyone!!

Markus, you're a good man Charlie Brown...fortunately the Westmeath weekend is coming up so everyone can put you back in your place before your head swells up too much
Seriously - I think this is by far the best outdoors website forum anywhere. All the mods are do a great job of keeping things balanced and definitely don't get the credit they deserve.
Now everybody shut up and go fishing

Markus for president!!!
Alison for Miss Universe!!!
Can't wait to see you both again.
I haven't scrolled down far enough to see who the next idiot is that is giving him grief. I'm gonna speak out of turn here as M.T. Livewell (most certainly not as a rep for this site - so any disagreements PM me and me alone). Markus is great and I count him among my friends. Don't mess with my friends!!!
I'm getting awful tired of this non-sense.
That is all.

I've fished with Markus a good number of times now, and always enjoyed it! Learned a lot " you make another hookset like that you and I are gonna have words"
Like Big O says keeps you going even when the fish aren't biting! I'm some where near a year on the board now and have yet to meet a Hawk Talker I didn't like! Says a lot for everybody here, we all have a common interest the outdoors and what it has to offer!Lake Trout, ET, Hoss, Jammer, Skein, 3M, Big O, Topwater, Float, Roxy, Hoover , MT, Turkeyman, Brenda,Fishhawk, Bobber, RJ,Bacon, Snag, Legend, Salmon, the list could go on and on, we have had the pleasure of meeting so many great people! These are a but few people that make this board what it is. CCB you reading this, someday I need a lesson on using baitcasting reels.

Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to meet Markus yet, due to unforseen circumstances, was planning on spending a day at the HOF with him, ....till it disappeared. Then I was going to meet him at the Long Point ice derby, ..till it was cancelled. I think he's avoiding me....

Seriously though, having chated on line with him quite a few times, I can see where you guys are coming from, ...I can just imagine what spending a day with him would be like. (don't forget, you're taking me downrigging this year ...remember?

As far as the moderator's role, I haven't run across another member here yet who I think could have come close to fulfilling the role as well. I've read numerous short posts here by members thanking him for some question or problem he's helped them with, ...myslf included on a couple of occasions. I am glad to see that he has finally got some help, ...must have been swamped there for awhile, the way things exploded around here. I think I speak for the vast majority of members here when I say, ...."Keep up the good work"

Having said that,
Markus,....when we hook up out on the bar one morning, .....can I borrow your horseshoe for the day?
