A new friend for my 90

My 90HP Johnson was lonely, so I found her a friend tonight! I picked up a 9.9HP 4 stroke Yammy.
I'm sure this is gonna help out in reducing my fuel bill this season, plus it'll knock a few hours off the Johnson.

WIG, that was the selling feature to Pink Lady...."How can you justify taking those kids out 20miles from land and risk breaking down!" heh heh heh!

Awsome Markus, I was thinking the same thing as WIG, maybe a few less calls to the Coast Guard this year!!
Can you troll with that on Erie or Ontario? Or is it just for safety reasons?
Does it have its own gas tank and fuel line or does it run off your main tank?
Sorry for the questions, im just curious!

It's more than enough motor to troll on Erie and ON. 6HP would have done it.....just couldn't pass up a good deal, plus it fits nice on the back of the 14 foot tinnie. (the meat boat

).
It has electric start, so it's direct wired to the main battery. My 90 is oil injected, so the 9.9 4 stroke is spiced into my main tank.
I'm not sure what I'm going to hook up for a sterring arm yet. I'm gonna look at a few options first.

Markus who hooked it into the main tank? Kickers with main tank fuel lines have caused more than a few PanPans on Colpoys

fff, I just got here tonight, I haven't spliced it in yet. The battery cables are a no brainer, but I'm gonna have Proctor Marine do it for me next week.
I gotta take the boat in to put a new prop seal on the Johnson and I was just gonna ask them to hook up the second fuel line.
nice

An excellent idea

,saves wear and tear on the big unit and puts off replacing her, plus the added security of being able to get back to the dock in case of problems. The added expense of adding a kicker will pay out in the long run for sure, good luck with it.

Thats a sweet motor Markus,
I have exact same kicker, fuel line is 'T'
ed in with the main motor,no problem.have a quick snap on/off linkage($60) with the main motor.you can't control throttle from consol but once you have set your trolling speed just lift up the tiller arm(so not to get jamed on the side of boat) and steer from the consol.break it in properly as the manuel says and you have a insurence policy for life

just purrrrs all day

Nice kicker motor Markus... great for trolling.
I hear that the Coast Guard have started up a pool though.... odds are they say that it will develop problems before the year is out... they need your business....
Sometimes I just kill myself...
Beauty motor buddy... just couldn't resist the ribbing.
