I am wondering what kind of braid most of the guys use.I am looking at puting it on some spining reels for bass fishing in the slop.Was interested in the spiderwire steath but not sure.

I use 30 lb Power Pro on all mine but one...I've tried the Spiderwire and went back to PP....

Just remember to use a mono backing.....to avoid slip....

I find Power Pro works the best for me. Never had any problems with it. It seems to work better as it gets worked in.

..had 10 on but have switched to 15 had some break-offs with 10.

I would strongly suggest not to use spiderwire, Ive used it befor and i got nothing but weak nots, and line breakage. Also I have not heard much good stories on it.

I had never tried putting braid on my spinning i usually use mono on my spinning reels, I only use braid mostly on baitcasters. But I heard that the Stren Braid might be a pretty good braid.

I use 30 lbs Power Pro on my bass gear and 10lbs on my walleye gear. For braid it's hard to beat. Also try Fins, I have found it works well.

Personally, I cannot stand braid on spinning gear. It is hard on the guides and makes alot of vibration. I do however have one rigged up with P-pro for the times I am fishing for Wallters in the rapids. That rod does'nt get used much

I personally don't use braid for fishing bass. I use 12lbs and have not had a problem to date

I would strongly suggest 30lb power pro. I used it in all my spinning gear and could not ask anything more from a braid. Casts beautifully and didnt have a break off all year....and that is throwing into trees and slop. And as well my buddy spends most of his time fishing for birds in the trees and it never broke on him once.......just kidding about the birds Tyler not about throwing into the trees though.

Try out the green fireline...it's got more of the mono feel on the spinning gear

30lbs power pro... can't beat it!

I used the Spiderwire Stealth last year on a spinning rod and found it fine for flipping applications and casting spinnerbaits. Where it did lack is in casting lighter lures, for some reason it didn't do it well. This year I'm probably going to switch to PP since everyone seems to be raving about it...

I tried the new spiderwire "stealth" on one rig last year and found a vast improvement over the original spiderwire fusion. I've heard pro & con about Power Pro, might try it this year, at almost twice the price though, can't see it being twice as good..

For mono, I've always found "stren" to be be the best and most forgiving (low memory), .....especially when you get the twisties from trolling.
I think the worst stuff I used was the rapala mono, I've got half a spool for sale cheap, if anyone wants it.....

Mike and I use the 30lb PowerPro on our spinning reels and 50 (and this year 65lb test) on the baitcasters. He used to be a Trilene XT guy for spinning but has been using the PowerPro for 3 years now and is extremely happy with it.

Do you tie the power pro directly to the snap swivel or to a leader?

WATERKAN I tie directly to the lure. U get better action. If you need a leader then try a Flurocarbon leader.
