Your favorite flies: Updated version

Post by Mike Lennox »

Since favorite patterns often change throughout the summer, I thought I would make a new survey. Just cut and paste, and write your answer.
A fun way to learn some new patterns to tie in the winter, and have some fun. You can include a favorite surface fly and sinking fly.

largemouth bass: chartreuse/white clouser minnow (size 1)
chartreuse/black bass popper(size 2)

smallmouth bass: Dumbbell olive wooly bugger, with saltwater hook(sz1)
gold/red/black bass popper(size 4)

pike: chartreuse/white/orange (perch) half and half.
popper."any colour seems to work"

crappie:crappie candy. (size 6-8)
charteuse chernobyl ant

muskie: n/a

rainbow trout:size 16 bead head hares ear
cdc/elk caddis(size 18-20)

brown trout:n/a
rusty orange ausable bomber(size 8-14)/cinnamon turks tarantuala(size 8

brook trout:pheasant tail nymph(size 8-18)
n/a

bluegill/rockbass:crappie candy (size 4-10)
foam gurgle-pop

Most people will have the same answers, but hopefully there will be a few new and interesting ones.

I'm not a dry-fly guy at all...but these are two of my standards for salmon and steelies.
