October madness on the fly....

Post by Mikey »

As a few of you already know, I'm originally from Nova Scotia. I flyfished for Atlantic Salmon for many years. My brother still resides there....and we have gotten together to practice our yearly ritual of landing these great fish on the fly. We have a deal...I tie all the flies...and he watches the rivers to see which ones have good water levels.... and fish of course. This year I was unable to make it down because of work commitments...but I still tied him up a batch of flies so he could get to the river and land some fish....on the promise he would take some pics for me...looks like my flies are still catching fish hehehe!..I'd like to share them with you...

No brookies in there YF...all Atlantics...FF...I've fished those rivers since I was a kid....very seldom do you ever meet another fisherman on them..there are enough good rivers with great runs on the North shore of Nova Scotia that you can fish a different one everyday for years and never fish the same one twice...the bonus...some have 2 runs....one summer and 1 fall....the summer run lets you take them on dries....that's is an incredable experience to say the least hehehe!!

Incredible !

Few years back I was fortunate to fish Petite Cascapedia River in Gaspe area and so far fly fishing for Atlantic was one of the best fishing I ever had.
