A different type of fishing that has seen rewards been reaped by many. This forum allows us to learn more about Float and Fly fishing from those who have made it their number 1 way to fish.
Black Rapids is a good spot to hone your flyfishing skills. If you'd like a fishing partner tonight or Saturday just give me a shout.
Todd B., Thanks for your offer. Sorry for the lateness of my reply, but I'll be down at Black Rapids tomorrow morning by 10 to give the new outfit a cast.
FYI, I'll be wearing a green fedora, and my real name is Chris.
I might pop down but I can't say for certain when, as I have to hang around the house for a furniture delivery... which of course they can never say exactly when they'll arrive other than somtime Saturday.
You actually don't need to cast that far at Black Rapids since the structure typically only extends out about 15-20'. Rember to let the rod do the work. It's all in the timing as opposed to power. If you find you're having problems just check out www.sexyloops.com for lots of tips, corrections, etc.
"There wouldn't have been any butt kickings if that stupid death ray had worked."
Well, I was down at Black Rapids this morning to try out my new gear. There were several people fishing the spit that extends downstream after you cross the lock (none with a fly), but I waded out into that area and casted out to the main flow of water.
I caught a few little bass fairly close in, but things calmed down after I started casting out a little farther. To be honest, I was just trying to work on my cast and keep things fairly respectable looking. Lots of fun, though.
