OFS Tuesday Night Fishing

Post by Todd B. »

The Ottawa FlyFishers Society is kicking off it's Tuesday Night Fishing once again this season. If you'd like to get out and wet a line, meet some fellow fly fisherman, pick up some pointers, etc feel free to come out.

Date: Tuesday, July 3rd
Time: 6:45pm
Location: NCC parking lot on the Ottawa R. just east of the Island Park intersection. (Note: I'm sure a number of us will move to the Island after meeting since there is more accessible water there.

Bring your waders and your favorite flies. See you there!

Cheers,
Todd

Rossco,

It was good to see that you made it out to the Tuesday Evening fishing. I take it you walked over to the island to fish. Hope the bite was better over there. This was the first (and last) time that I will be fishing on the Ottawa side. The action is much better around the islands.

Let me know when you're free and we'll see about hooking into some Mississippi smallies.

Cheers,
Todd

Unfortunately I didn't do much better. 3 undersized fish on the Ottawa side (where you guys were) and 1 even smaller one on the island. I had 2 others on the hook (one of which was a good size) but they spat my muddler minnow out. You latched into a good catch the other night, where abouts were you?

Could be looking to hit the Miss this coming weekend (probably Sunday), what do you think?

Rossco,

Yeah, from my vantage point it looked like you were spending too much time in unproductive shallow water. There are a couple of good holes over where you were. Had I know you were going over to the island I would have come along. I only managed 3 on the Ottawa side.

As for the other day I covered most of the water between the islands as well as a number of the holes on the south side. Here's the nice eye I picked up yesterday.
