OFS Tuesday Evening Fishing (Aug 7th)

Post by Todd B. »

My apologies for not posting this week's location sooner.

Based on a number of suggestions this week's location will be the Rideau R. at Strathcona Park in Sandy Hill (see map) The parking lot is at the end of Somerset E. This will be my first time on this particular stretch of water but I'm sure the standard set of flies used on the Rideau will work.

i.e. weighted woolly buggers, streamers, clousers, poppers, etc.

See everyone there (6-6:15pm)

Cheers,
Todd

last night's outing was probably one of the best this season in terms of the fishing action. I think the majority of us we in double figures with SM ranging from 8" and larger. The largest fish (lost) was an estimated 16", lost right before lipping. LOL

Chris, hope you enjoyed your 2nd time fly fishing.

Doug, I'll bring the duct tape next week to seal the top of your waders. LOL

Cheers,
Todd

I'm going with "My wader belt was loose because I lost weight while fishing".....

I had a great time, learned a few new things to help me improve my casting skills. Looking forward to next weeks outing. I went to Green Drake and took a look at a pair of waders and proper boots that I am thinking I will pick up before next weeks outing.
