Thank you to Gramps for mentioning a trout fishing spot but unfortunatly I was held up trying to fix another problem I got myself into. Now I know everyone told me at OFS to leave my cell in the car but (OOOPPPSSS) I had to take it out fishing with me so I could look at the time. I set out on Saturday to fish in the evening for 4 hours while I was waiting for something to arrive before I went back to my office. On Friday I purchased a new rod and reel and wanted to try it out, Well I did catch 3 nice small mouth bass on a top popper each fishing being over 15inches. Then at about 8pm I had a fish take my streamer and run I was so excited. After 15 minutes of fighting this fish I got the first glips of it my reactions WOW THAT'S A BIG FISH the consequences I slipped on a rock while wadding and into the lake I went (Cell phone in my fishing vest). I finally brought the fish in walked completly wet over to the shore and unhooked the fish, It was a nice 7.6lbs carp. After letting the fish go I noticed a light comming from my jacket, I reached in and pulled my cell out. The screen was completly white, the phone drenched. I pulled the battery out and left it on my night table to dry till tuesday morning. I didn't go trout fishing on Tuesday because I had to go buy a new phone that I needed for my business. My wife asked me if the phone was worth the fish, I replied at the time yes. After seeing the price of the new phone now I am not sure, but I did have a good time.
This weekend I am going to Port Hope to do salmon fishing with my dad. If something comes up and my dad won't be able to make it then I will go trout fishing WITH OUT MY CELL PHONE.
A cell phone is a very expensive watch. I use a ziploc inside a ziploc for stuff that shouldn't get wet. Worked great when I wiped out earlier in the year.
Same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago when we were fishing near the water filtration plant. I let the phone dry out for about four days and its
fine. Now is use a ziploc bag
