He showed up in court with a copy of the mnr regulations and highlighted the spot where it says "management principles related to stocking" http://publicdocs.mnr.gov.on.ca/View.as ... t_ID=26422 The judge dissmised the case. My friend in question is a retired ottawa police officer and has told me that NO ONE has the right to charge people to fish there. He also said that as long as you are there for the sole purpose of fishing there is nothing they can do from a legal stand point... If ever you run across one of theses guy's insist the you are there to fish and only to fish and that you every right to be there! I bet they just give ya a dirty look and move on...
I hate to open this up again.....but has anyone ever challenged the township regarding having to pay to setup a tent on one of these lakes????? We used to camp on these lakes which are on Crown Land years ago for free....the township is now saying that these are designated "campsites" and you have to pay $20/night to camp.....this is the most ridiculous crap I have ever encountered!!!

I am planning on camping/fishing that area with my son in October and I sure as hell am not going to fork out $43.00 to camp on crown land for a couple of nights

My guess is that you'd have to pay for the permits as the Ontario Crown Land usage states that it is Free unless otherwise posted. In the case of fishing, the Province's own stocking regulations requiring public access superceeded the requirement for a road permit.

True, but I'd assume that it's posted as no camping outside of the designated campsites, hence you'd have to purchase the permit.

I've read about a gentleman who went to court over his fine(s) as he wasn't camping on a designated campground, (and not using a "vault"), the case was dismissed and fine not paid.

The road pass is a money grab, the road is worse now than it was 20 years ago with no fee. I use it all the time and have never been stopped. I have no pass and will not buy one for a rocky dirt road that is rough as hell. Oh and mosque only has bows and lakers. No specs for decades
