Simms order coming in soon...

Post by JeanDorais »

Stopped by FP&F at lunch yesterday and Greg mentionned that his Simms order is on it's way. Hopefully my new waders will be in it :) I'm just a little stoked about getting the new waders...can you tell???

Jean

PS If you've not stopped by the store in a bit, there's a LOT of new stock( tying materials, new TFO Axiom rods...and lots and lots of other new stuff!)

Jean Dorais,

Yes I think we can tell that you are stoked, you had to tell us three times!!!!

Hahaha, just kidding!

I'm going to stop by there tonight, and pick up some flies for some big bass/pike...and possibly fins (if he still has them).

Sean.

If FP&F doesn't have fins, I'm sure LeBaron might still have some in stock as well.

hmm...I didn't ask anyone, but when I was there on the weekend I was looking at their float tube selection (which looked just to be the one with the hunting pattern) and then on the wall hanging they had packages of Fins, but the only size they had was small....

Maybe they have others in a different location that I don't know about but that was all I managed to find.

After only a total 8 days on the river my Simms G3 waders leak. The inside right leg leaks where the 3 layer material meets the 5 layer material. I'm not impressed :(

That's not good at all...returnable?

I'm not sure how the process for returning waders is. Some places won't let you return them once they've been worn in the water, which is pretty much the dumbest theory I've ever heard of.

Can't return them to Green Drake since I'm in Vancouver. I called Simms and they'll ship me a new pair but I'm out cost of shipping the defective ones back. I'm getting tired of shipping waders back to the manufacturers.

To top it all off, my father is visiting me out here in Vancouver and his Orvis Pro-Guide3's that he bought last season started leaking today....

Paul,

John (JVE) told me he picked up a no-name pair from Gander Mountain the other day for $50. Might be time to return to the cheap brands?

Out on Sunday morning (brrr, a smidge brisk!) and my Orvis Silver Labels have developed a new leak- in the feet: two small holes in the outside of the neoprene feet. Let in just enough water to get my feet soaked and frozen in a few short minutes. Not happy. Patched the feet with a wet suit repair kit I have and they seem ok.

Just waiting on my tax(business) return to get my Simms G3's. Sorry it's taking so long Greg!!!

Jean D.

PS Anyone know where I can find some waterproof neoprene gloves that are thin enough to allow me to cast/retrieve? My thin-shelled ones aren't waterproof anymore ;(

I received my new Orvis Proguide3 waders a few weeks ago. I've got them for sale in the classifieds section. Here's the posting
