the tay river

Post by Mike Lennox »

hello fellow flyfisherman,
To get to my cottage we always drive over the tay river. It is a public access with a beauty pool and a nice run"over train track into glen tay". Looks almost like a trout stream.
My parents finally let me fish it. Instantly I hooked up with a wee 9 inch smallie. Over the next half hour I caught 3 bass betwee 8-11 inches and 2 hard fighting fallfish 7 and 12 inches. If you live near perth it is a fun place to have fun and know you can catch fish in a short period of time. My buddy "simon" caught 5 smallies between 7-11 inches too. Theyre small, but fun, might wanna bring a 3/4 wt. It was cool catching my first fallfish!

Glad ya had a good day.

Good fishin:
