Wader problem

Post by OBD »

Hey all!

I bought some waders at Dick's Sporting goods couple months ago and I've used them about a dozen times... The problem is, the boot is starting to crack and water is coming in from those cracks on the boot itself... Other than that everything is fine. Any advice what to do?

Thanks!

There are only three things certain in life: death, taxes and leaky waders :D

If they're under warranty I'd return them. If not, buy some Aquaseal to patch the cracks. A set of waders should last you more than a dozen trips. I got three seasons out of my first set. Bought new waders this season and have put 30+ days on them. So far no leaks.

Nodie....my waders are close to 7yrs old and this spring, they were also starting to leak at the rubber boot where it meets the leg....I used good old air mattress patches that you can find at Can Tire....so far so good....

I have successfully used batches from bicycle repair kits and marine goop. You can pick up marine goop from any hardware store such as Home Depot. The marine goop works very well.
