Kenauk OFS Outting

Well it was back to reality for a number of us (bobfly, fishboy, Salar, northernfly, beachburger, wongrs) that enjoyed yet another OFS outting to Kenauk. While the weather was terrible back here, the weather at Kenauk was great as was the fishing.

Arriving Sunday at lunch, those of us at Green Lake put in and struggled to get into any fish for the first couple of hours. As the clouds rolled in the bite turned on an everyone as into bows for the rest of the afternoon and evening.

The highlight of the trip had to be fishboy's post-lunch session Tuesday on Sugarbush where he landed 14 bows in the span of around 3 hours. Big fish honours went to the Doctor who's first ever rainbow trout was a 23 incher. Needless to say the fishery at Kenauk is exceptional and well worth it if you have the opportunity to fish it.

I'll post pictures as soon as I get them downloaded from my camera.

Cheers,
Todd

It was a great trip to Kenauk. It is definitely a worthwhile destination. Between my Father and I we landed 30 rainbows. If only we could have converted on more of our hookups. Those rainbows love to swim directly at you and jump. I swear they know that I'm using barbless hooks :)

Cheers,

Salar.

Here's a picture of one of the trout I caught. I found this to be about the average size I was catching. They put up a good fight for their size. Yes, I know I should be smiling but I was concentrating on holding the fish :)

Here's a picture of one of the trout my father caught. Not the biggest trout of the trip but it had amazing spots and colour.

The most successful fly for the two of us was the Dark Montreal. My father landed over a dozen trout on this fly, including a nice 18"er.

Ah yes...gotta love it! Now all I have to do is make sure I've got vacation days left for the Fall Kenauk trip. (when the fishing is even better!) ;-)

The trip was absolutely amazing! Kenauk is a 1st class destination with some of the best stillwater trout fishing there is.

It was a special trip for everyone involved - good friends, good food, and great fishing.
