Went out yesterday anyways - no thunderstorms nor any rain. The water level is very high and fishing was just OK. Managed to land a few SM, but nothing of any size. I think it will be better in a week or so providing the rain drops off a bit.

Well the weather actually turned out to be really good yesterday evening for the three of us (Evan, Travis and myself) that showed up. The water is still running about a foot higher than normal summer levels, but it's still managable given that there are no abrupt ledges or holes to step off of or into.

The high water makes fishing the stretch above the rapids pretty much a mute point so we decided to fish the bottom section out as far as we could wade. Between the three of us I estimate that we landed close to five dozen smallies, with at least a half dozen in the 12" range. Nice chunky smallies that did a lot of tail walking for us.

Travis capped off the evening with a respectible 13" eye caught while heading back to shore.
