Shark Skin Line -

Post by Hookup »

Well along the feedback of jean's post about reels (good feedback confirming what we both thought), what does anyone know of this very expensive line called Shark Skin. Im sure youve seen it, $99.99 in stores...

I know low-end line hurts, but that seems to the most expensive, and highly hyped, by their own marketing, fly line out there... anyone have any opinions?

Haven't tried it, though the reviews have been good. The only knock is that the texture on the line makes for a lot of noice when casting the line. Myself, I'm happy with the upper end SA lines. Others that I know are fans of the RIO lines.

With respect for a $100 line, I would expect to be able to test cast it before I paid that kind of money. :-)

I bought the airflo ridgeline, which is pretty similar to the sharkskin from what i've read, and i really like it. it's the best line i've used so far, and i've owned cortland lazer line, cortland 444, scientific angers- a couple types, but yeah, this ridge line is great, i imagine the sharkskin must be as well since the operate on the same principals.

I haven't cast one myself yet but as Todd said the reviews have overall been positive. There haven't been a lot of formal reviews by the big sites or magazines. Best place for info are some of the larger forums. Google sharkskin +line +forum
