Evening everyone,

Sorry for the short-notice post, but I'll be heading out to Long Island tomorrow morning - Wednesday Aug 6. On holidays this week and have a kitchen pass for tomorrow morning.

I plan on being out there for about 06:00, rain or shine if anyone wants to join me I'll be the tall guy in waders! :)

Cheers,

Jean

Jean,

I'd love to join you, however, my employer has other ideas.

There are some bigguns downstream from where you and I were fishing. There's deep water on either side and they're in there.

Good luck, good fishing, and I hope the wader repair job holds.

Jerry,

Darn employers! :) I'll start at the rapids and work my way down toward the dam. I find that the upper area in/around the bridge isn't all that productive at the moment.

I've tested the repair on the waders today, no issues- nice and dry inside !

Sorry you won't be joining in the fun. Will try and remember to pack the little camera- you never know what you might catch!

Cheers,

Jean

Good luck pal. You missed some fun, but fast waters last night at Hog's Back... very different waters for sure... fast-fast...

PS: Not all employers are bad right?

Yep, but I did manage to go out again today- Long-Island was productive for me: 8 sm's, 2 Walleye and some little silver-ish looking fish (no idea what they are, but they but up a fun fight :)

Jean,

The silver fish may be Fallfish http://www.unb.ca/cri/projects/Fish_key ... l_Fish.htm . I caught quite a few there last weekend.

Yes there are alot of fallfish....

They come from this creek called Mud Creek in large numbers. I live in this area and used to fish mud creek all the time and you would pull out tons of fallfish, up to 15inches even! They were huge.....

They are just gigantic minnows.......Like big Shiners almost....

Anyways, i's nice to know you did well fishing here in Manotick.....I love this area.....I love to fish here....it's always been good for me....there are a ton of shore fishing spots around here which are accessible to me. It's great! I find Fall is the best time.....along with spring!!!

Have yet to catch an eye in the Rideau river................nice to know they are still there haha!
