A different type of fishing that has seen rewards been reaped by many. This forum allows us to learn more about Float and Fly fishing from those who have made it their number 1 way to fish.
I think Bob went about 3 weeks ago. The bite should be picking up in any case. Bob managed a couple nice ones up the valley on Friday. I'm hoping to get out on Monday for some bows.
Well I was hoping to get up the valley for some bows, but I wound up hiking in the Gatineau's instead. Afterwards I managed to get out for a wade, landing only two small SM. One was so dark that if you'd think it was black unless the light was just right to hightlight his stripes.
I start my new job in Regina April 1. My house and property are going up for sale today here in Ont. !!! I had to finish off the bee season before selling and moving.
Doh! Figures the MNR would do that. They close the Brookie season for 2 months in Zone 15. We just scratch our heads at that one, given that at least in the lakes, the majority if not all of them are stocked anyways. There could at least add more lakes to the year round access list.

Let me know if you would like to come down for a before freeze-up for a tour of the southern Zone 18 speckles while you wait for spring. As long as I have not sold the place.
So i made it down to the Bing yesterday, got in the water by 9am, nice place. I fished with a loop connecting super fast sinking 10' line attached to my intermediate 6wt line with a small bead head shark caddis. Caught a nice 18"rainbow. would pot a pic but not sure how. Anyhow, i fished until 2:30pm with no luck. Seen many fish rising all around me, but couldn't figure out what they were feeding on as there was no apparent hatch. Switched to dry and subsurface flies but was shut out. Have to say that it's a nice place to fish even though i hadn't caught much, but still recommend it for those who have not been there. Will go again for sure.
