What is the draw on these style of boats, with or without frame, vs kayak or canoe? They look cumbersome to setup and take down, not as agile as a kayak or canoe yet a lot of people have them...
Any insight from those who have used them???

i never try ,yslef.
but i do no the space it take wen not inflated. unlike a canoe or kayak..you need space to put it.
if somebody stay in an apartement or towhome and as no space it guive him a chance to have something that float to go fishing.
and you can put it in the car....no need for racks or trailer etc.
but yep take time on shore to bring it up etc.
i have been reading a lot in some flaot tube site and a lot off people just love them..comfy and get to place that others cant.
some flaot tube can be on your back and trek up mountain and try those little lakes.
harder wit a kayak or canoe.
they all have there pro and cons i gues

I'd never considered the storage aspect of the inflateables! I have a float-tube, and I totally see how that is something different than a boat/canoe or yak... but the row-boat style inflateables always baffled me...
If I was an apt, guy, it would likely make sense cause storing a canoe or yak inside a typical apartment means it better double as a bed or dining room table...
