A different type of fishing that has seen rewards been reaped by many. This forum allows us to learn more about Float and Fly fishing from those who have made it their number 1 way to fish.
you're looking for an 8wt or better. The answer would depend on the amount of time you planning on fishing for the bigger fish. If that's your primary target you might consider a 9 or 10 wt. If bass is you primary target an 8wt would be a good choice.
For Musky, generally a larger rod is preferred. We have a couple of customers using 9 and 10wt with pike/musky floating lines. With your large flies, you should consider a pike/musky line to help turn over the flies.
Definitely test cast the rods before you buy. Getting a rod to fit your casting style will make all the difference.
If none of your big flies are weighted, I would recommend an intermediate sink line on a spare spool for those bright sunny days where you might need to get a little bit deeper.
