You will never do it by hand ever again after u get a pump. You'll wait until you can get one before you start squeezing that bottle ever again.

Mikey I didn't know that they had one with a pressure tip I'd like it to try one because I find that the one that you screw in is a hassle because you have to turn everything around pump, bottle,. and I find that because it takes long to unscrew I seem to lose some oil!!!!!
Have you tried both???

Got one...
Hey lads,
Well I was at Canadian Tire today. picking up a Flo N' Go... The father is notorious for spilling gas, so I though, perfect for christmas... I look around the rack, and lo' and Behold, there is the exact same thing Mikey put up a picture of... Marine something something pump... Look like a slick operation, maybe give it a try this week-end... I know I've got to get the propane heater going again, to thin the oil a bit first... same time make sure there is no ice/water left in the prop assembly...
Anyone ever change the seal kit on one of these 9.9? Very hard? I figure while I'm re-doing wiring and the likes, might as well... still not sure if there was water in the oil, since it wasn't the normal white/gray, but while I'm at it....

Tried both, the screw in is the most efficient. If you're having to turn the whole unit, it's usually because your fingers are full of oil.. Before you start, take the unit and hold the hose with one hand, tturn the connector back and forth to loosen it up. You'll find it turns fine when your hands are not full of oil...Once you're done adding the oil. Hold the clear hose with one hand, and remove the fitting with the other CLEAN hand, I usually have a rag in hand while doing this. Hope this helpsWallyboss wrote:Mikey I didn't know that they had one with a pressure tip I'd like it to try one because I find that the one that you screw in is a hassle because you have to turn everything around pump, bottle,. and I find that because it takes long to unscrew I seem to lose some oil!!!!!

Did the seals on my old 25 Merc, and a buddies 9.9 Rude. It's a very meticulous job that requires some "specialty" tooling. Not a job for the "non-mechanically" inclined. The seal kits contain a large amount of gaskets etc. Most people think it's just a couple of O-rings etc.., beleive me, it's alot more than that hehehe!!! Glad to see you found the oil pump Kody, remember to get that foot good and warm before you empty her out.kodiak wrote:Hey lads,
