I have finally convinced the wife that it is a good idea for us ( by this I mean me) to have a boat slip. Actually the covered one in Long point are cheaper then an open one was in Port stanley . They even have hydro so I can leave the charger on just to keep up the Batters. Right now I have been using yellow poly rope as the boat is not ever really tied up should I switch to that white rope( cotton I think or hemp whastever it is you know what kind i mean). Does the yellow rope slowly slip?? Any other tips I should know?? I would hate to come to my spot and boat is floated away without me in it??

If you do not have one already...add an automatic bilge pump. Also using ram mounts for electronics is helpful so you can easily remove them to take home with you to prevent theft.

Thanks I do have a quick release for the electronics. Is the auto bilge pump easy to install ?? I am going to have it in a boat house think its a must?? Probaly not a bad idea for sure, Never gotten much water out when ive pulled the plug. Only time was when it was pretty rough and we got soaked ( did learn to use the trim much better that day good fishin too)
Well if you can get the auto pump in beside the other one and hot wire it and mount the dischage hose on the oppisite side of boatyou have it done. I would leave the old one in as back up.
or you mite be able to get a bilge pump auto switch for the one you have now.
Have a look at Skooter's Repair Center he has a bit in there on his pump installation.
Definately change your ropes to the better quality dock lines that you can pick up at CTC. They won't rot or stretch as easy. If you leaving it there the last thing you want is a rope to break. The other ideas mentioned above are also great.
