What is the best way to store boat batteries inside. Have brought my deep cycle and cranking batteries in to basement for winter. Both are being stored off the cement floor. Both are fully charged at the moment. How often should I recharge them? Should I kill the batteries before recharging? Usually I used to charge the cranking battery for 2-3 hrs at 10 amps and the deep cycle for 2-3 days at 2 amps. Is this ok or should I be doing it differently. I'm not really keen about the idea of leaving the charger hooked up on trickle charge for the winter. All suggestions would be appreciated.

I think you'll find the concrete floor issue is a thing of bygone days and not an issue. If you don't want to leave them on constant charge, the a top-up once a month would be fine. Before storage, check the acid level and top-up with distilled water as required and re-charge, clean off any excess dirt and liquid and put them to bed.
