Looking for a portable that I can take with me, and use in my brothers canoe
Does anyone have any feedback on models etc?
So far I liked this one:
http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/produ ... 6409954680
And this one
http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/produ ... 6410070252
But mainly because of look and a demo i saw, and price range
Any info is appreciated - I am not partial to any make and model - max spend range $200 and down
Thanks
Gordy
Portable Fish Finder
I'm not endorsing this product or know how well it works but awhile back I was looking at fish finders and came across this one.

They have them at LeBaron's for $210.00. (Sorry, I just realized you are in Mississauga)
The only reason I mention this is because you said it was for a canoe. It uses a C clamp instead of suction cups so mounting it on the side of canoe would be a breeze.
An added bonus is that it has side finding ability.
Maybe there are FH members that have it and can give us some feedback?

I own the Eagle Cuda 168 because it was easy to transport from boat to boat (...rented boats a lot in the past...) and does a good job when it comes to depth and structure. It is nothing fancy but it does the job.
I personally bought it for depth/structure and not so much for identifying fish and it does a great job. I would recommend buying rechargeable batteries because it will be cheaper in the long run. It comes with a suction cup transducer.
