Anyone use these? http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/store ... rchResults
I'm outfitting my new (to me) Smokercraft for my first full season. At first glance they look like a great idea, just wondering if anyone has real world experience with them.
Anywhere local I can support with this purchase?

The problem with that design is when something is hit all of the pressure is applied to the skeg (motor must be in the unlock position so it can ride up).
Does eliminate old method of using a pitchfork in front of the prop, which affected the waterflow to the prop.
One of the homemade systems, is a piece of steel rod (no bigger than re-bar). that went in front of the motor, top of the rod was attached about 3/4 way up the motor (don't know what that flat portion is called). The bottom of the rod was bent to go under the skeg, and had a plate to attach to the skeg. The bottom of the rod was then had another V shape rod welded
to it. Local shops sold it for about $30 bucks, or make your own out of re-bar and scrap metal.
