hi all


I got a 1990 pro171 princraft /80merc...



last year it was running good...so at the end off the year i taught i would do a good job......put that stuff in the carb(3) plus in the 3 spark plug.change the oil in the foot...etc.



now i bring it out off the barn................IT WONT START.... :?

change the spark plus..again.dont help.

so what is my probleme....?????????



its not the starter.......it start

not the electronic.it start and run wit gas directly in the carbs or spark plugs....

so what is left............carb
gaz filter


what helse....????

the hose frome the tank,the copling frome that hose...mmm,there new.


.any ideal would be nice

can be mutch that boat was running great

I dont what i did good.its now working great,,,,,,,,, :P

MUST BE THE CARB CLEANER..... :roll:


everything work like a charm.wow.

so now got the spark plug change and oil change the carb clean....ready to go...

where the fish.. 8)

Hey Joco,

I had the same problem last year on my 1998 25hp Johnson.
Try replacing the impeller.
I had the same issue, although mine would start for a short period before conking out.
Impeller was like 40 bucks, took about 2 hours to change it (my first time ever opening a lower end mind you).
If that doesn't solve your issue, check the diaphram on the carb, it might have dried out or cracked over the winter.

Joco....my 1994 40hp did the same thing last spring...I watched the temp gauge and kept running it at low throttle....after 20mins the blockage cleared up and the water started flowing... runs fine now!! Never had to change a thing!!
