Transducer angle

Post by almontefisher »

Hey all: Just wondering if a transducer needs to be flat or on a bit of an angle to work proper...and if not exactly flat does it change the depth and make things inaccurate??? Hope this is not a silly question just curious.

Sorry but another question on same topic...Does the 150 degree sweep I have really work to show fish on both sides of the boat...It says that the finder will display Left or Right depending on which side it is on. Have I been hosed here???

Hi,

Check out the lowrance website, they have a great tutorial about all of this.
But basically yes you want it flat relative to the water. So if you're boat rides level it will make a 90 degree angle with the transom. if you're fat like me and the back end of the boat sits down in the water then you'll have to increase/decrease the angle.
