Replacing trailer steps...type of wood to use?

Post by Mr.J. »

My trailer is a 1993

The wood has seen better days

I replaced the bumpers, one side with pressure treated and one side with red ceder (cedar?), this was the only 2 x 4 wood I had hanging around

Now for the steps. I have 4, one on either side of the wheel and on each side of the trailer

The wood that is there now is plywood.....but is it marine plywood or ordinary plywood?

All I know is they need to be replaced and I am looking for advice on the type of wood to use.

I don't know what is one there. I would assume its treated to kick the elements.

What size step? I say just go with some presure treated 2x? depending on size. I mean if he does not work out, you are only out like 7$

Maybe you could go to Tennesse and check out Dollywood.
Has a lot of floatation properties.
