I have a Minn Kota Power Drive 40lbs-48".
I love the motor but I hate the pedal, the ON/OFF switch is defective. I have done some research and it is a common problem. Some guys have bought 2-3 replacement pedals...ouch....at 60-70$, that ain't cheap. I hate replacing stuff, I'd rather spend my money on stuff I don't have....
I have the following dillema...buy a new pedal (which will probably break in 2-3 years) or buy the co-pilot.
Questions for co-pilot owners:
Are you very satisfied with the co-pilot?
Is it very responsive?
Would you buy it again if you had to?
Any other info/input....????
Thanks, Pat

I have essentially the same trolling motor, and it was great initially, but after a while the pedal does give out. I found that the side-to-side steering mechanism (Soft plastic) wore out, and I've been nursing it along by shimming it for the past 2 seasons. I've also heard of a lot of problems other people have had with the pedals. I'm repacing the whole deal this year, I think I'm getting an 'edge', I've had enough of the electronic steering.
Re: Minn Kota/Co-pilot Questions...
Bought a co-pilot last year for the same issues you are having.
Are you very satisfied with the co-pilot? Yes
Is it very responsive? Yes More so than the pedal and easier to use.
Would you buy it again if you had to? Yes
Any other info/input....????
You can move around the boat and not worry about the cables, I attach mine to the rod so if you hcange rods a lot it may be an issue. Otherwise, they are great. My pedal is now left at home.

Anybody else with personal experience with the co-pilot?
