hi all.

i will be under a dodge dakota truck all day next friday in a not heat garage...... :?


the transmission oil pan just went on is dodge dakota.. :?

i have to change it this friday..i never did that but i gues it hint mutch i was under the truck tonight..there nothing in the way off the pan nothing..i just have to get those bolts around out...then clean the surface...then put the bew gasket then the new oil pan and put oil in it....RIGHT.... :shock: :? .


is there something specieal i have to do before or after etc...



and were is the best place to find a oil pan and gasket for a

dodge dakota 1997 spor single cab.4/4 318 engine.


any tip would be helpfull thanks.

Go to NAPA Joco

Those boys can fix you up with the parts you need. If I was you I would try to find a manual for your truck. They are usually under $40 and they are worth the weight in gold when you get the job done right without paying a high priced mechanic to do it for you.

My advice joco would be to drain the oil before I remove the pan.... :wink: :lol: . But I am sure you knew that. Also while you are at it change the oil filter, it is just another 5 minutes to do in a cold garage

actualy it drain itself right in the garage..... :? .there is no plug..its not the motor pan its the transmision pan.

and there no place you can get those...other then the dealer dodge dealer..i got one for 90$ aprox the cheapes one..plus gasket plus oil plus tax plus plus..it will go up to 150$ if i do it myself.that is i will do tomorw night and friday if i am not finish.


just hope i wont brake any bold in the trans.. :?


you can get motor pan all over but trans pan....not mutch around here other then internet site.and dealer.

ITS DONE.

done it yesterday.took me about 2,5 hours.

i had nothing to jack the truck...so i had mabe 10 inh under the truck..... :shock: .

now the under part off the truck is all clean....my belly clean all off it..wit 10 inch under there there was not place get around.

cost.....147$ total...part/oil etc..no to bad.

just hope now the transmission wont start to slip...sometime hight miliegae trans slipp after a oil change.. :? .
