Suzuki DF2.5

Post by seahawk »

I want to buy a samll outboard so i can put it on my inflatable boat so it comes down to Suzuki df 2.5 a 2.5 hp motor. Does any one know if this brand is OK reliable? Is it enough to push my "boat" a little bit faster than electric trolling motor? I may occasionally use it for 14 ft small fishing boat from those boat rental outfit so the df2.5 becomes portable since it is only 30 lb. I just don't know if this 2.5hp outnboard can push 14 or 12 ft small fishing boat in what speed? It only comes with a 1.2L internal gas tank and I am concerned with the neeed to carry a gas tank on board in case of run out of fuel? Thanks.

It will push it fine but to get on plane you would need 9.9 minimum
and smart tabs or fin.
Great motors.

Yes, inflatable.
10' rigid hull will perform a bit better.

Will 2.5 hp push a 12 or 14 ft rental fishing boat at a reasonable speed? Thanks.
