I own a 14ft tracker grizzly. I dont fish from it as its used mainly for waterfowl hunting. Being the first Jon boat Iv had it really surpised me. Its a very stable boat. This is no car topper though. Its around 300lbs or boat.
I would be comfortable fishing a back lake and standing in the bow. Some Jon bosts now have a V shaped bow to help break waves.

I have a 16ft modV jon boat which i fish from. I find it much more stable then my last boat which was 15ft and had a deep hull. As stated they have a very shallow draft and can get into some very shallow water easily. It actually surprised me how well it handled, I didnt find it overly rough, and it handles rough water pretty easy. Ontop of that it moves along pretty good. It will do about 30mph with 2 guys, full floor, 3 batteries, bow mount etc. Needless to say I love it. So much so that I am probably going to upgrade to a bigger ModV jon witha bigger motor.
