15 hp enough for a 142 pro series boat

I`ve just picked up a princecraft 142 pro series boat without a motor,however I do own a 15 susuzki ,would this be enough motor for now.I will be upgrading to something around a 30 hp next spring but will the 15 work for now.Thanks

My F-I-L had a 15 Honda on his and he was way underpowered. But for a year you might be able to live thru it. It was fine as soon as he got on plane.

He had the Yukon not sure what the Pro142 is rated for.

i believe it is rated for a 60hp

the 145 is rated for a 60.

15 would be too underpowered then. Cause the Yukon was rated for a 25 and a 15hp was way underpowered.

My 142 tiller was rated for a 30. The console is (I think) rated for a 40.

A 15 is probably too small for either depending how how much weight you have in the boat...

If you fish tiny lakes that don't allow big chop to build you'll be okay. Don't put it on the Ottawa at all.
