Minn Kota service

Post by LouisD33 »

Looking for a good place to get a Minn Kota trolling motor fixed. In or around the Ottawa area would be my first choice.

I thought I needed to get my autopilot fixed a couple years ago and there was a place in Gatineau I found when I googled it.

What seems to be the problem if I might ask?

Regards,

Musky Mike

Yep, if you go to their web site and then to the neareast service center with your local Ottawa area postal code, that's the place that comes on the screen.

Good to know.

I've gotta say that myself (and from what I've heard, quite a few others) are NOT pleased with the operation running in the east end. They tried to screw me over on a repair that they said was warranty-able, by giving me the bill for $100+ and saying "hey it wasn't under warranty" even though they (verbally) said it was when i dropped the trolling motor off. They did not back down until I raised a BIG stink in there - they tore up the bill and told me to be thankful they were in a 'good mood'.

Pfft... not the kind of service I'd expect from a big company like Minn Kota / Johnson. I wonder if the regional rep knows that the reputation of this shop isn't pristine?

But, it's also the only real option unless you want to bring the thing to Kingston, so yeah... you're kinda screwed either way.

I've had a good experience with them - lengthened the power cables on my trolling motor no problem.
