Prop suggestion for 60 hp-4stroke yamaha

Post by Brooksy16 »

Hi!

I have a 16 ft SeaNyymph aluminum boat and have a 60 hp yamaha 4 stroke on it. My rpm's are only running around 5,000 and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions in how to prop it better, I currently have an 11 x 15 prop.

I have attached a picture of the boat. I have two large batteries for the electric about 2/3rds of the way back under the front deck.

The picture has my old 70 hp johnson on it.

thanks for any help!

What's the Max RPM of the engine. For every 1" of pitch added you will drop your RPM by 200.

The rpm range listed in the specs is 5000 to 6000. Thanks for your reply, so if I went to the same diameter prop with a pitch of 12 I should gain about 600 rpm then if I am understanding you correctly?

Thanks again!!
