MinnKota Powerdrive V2 question . . .

Post by The Captain »

55lb model came with the boat, great motor, love it, with one exception . . .

How do other owners get the @#$& thing off the cradle to deploy?

I'm up in the nose of my 14ft, and have to hammer on that thing to get it out of the cradle, the rest of the day I just run around with it straight vertical until I'm done for the day . . .

it's not the shaft in the bushing, its getting the motor unit itself unstuck from the cradle

any tips appreciated!

LOL!

BassAddict has the same type of motor... I STOMP down on the clip thing... that seems to loosen it... if I am lucky it deploys... if not I kick the crap out of it until it goes overboard.

Armorall on the shaft should help.

If it is the same as the Terrova..which I believe it is...push in THEN down. Stomp on it if you want but it wont last long doing that.

There's an adjustable collar where the Deploy lever meets the foot ....have it adjusted so its tight to the lever....To deploy step on the lever give it quick and firm push down........if it fails to deploy........remove trolling motor ...lop overboard
