hello! i have a honda 45hp 1996 when i bought motor had no problem going in reverse,now it will not go in reverse,it has occasionally since,the lever that u use to put in reverse will not go that far back it goes in forward then neutral but to go back one more for reverse it will not go!any ideas how to fix this?
any help would be awsome thxs everyone!

I'd check the linkage for something out of place or binding. I had a locking pin come out on my shifter. I put it back and everything worked fine. If there's nothing loose , missing or out of place then it may be in the bottom end which is beyond me without a manual.
