I've done some research and failed miserably. This might be a really stupid question.
Can I just anchor a boat on the Ottawa in a reasonable place and just kayak or paddle board out to it? I've seen boats anchored for days while people stayed in it as a sort of cottage. I've also seen boats just anchored by the Hull Marina but it seemed like a boat with a task or purpose.
What are the rules and regulations pertaining to such things. Maybe I can't insure a boat if it's not parked at my house of parked at the marina...
Any info will be appreciated.

This year I spent most of my money on beer, women and fishing...the rest I wasted.

Well any of the guys who own land in Constance Bay and that area have no choice but to anchor out about 50-100ft from shore with the boats so I would assume it would be fine. If you drop anchor in the middle of a boating chanell well that may be different..lol
Fishing isn't a matter of life and death....
It's much more important.

I have a few bays in mind on the Ottawa that are really close to my house and completely out of the way of the boating channel.
