I want to get a trolling motor for a canoe, how big is good enough for 2 men 250 pounds each something that will work at a good pace.

I run a 38lb thrust MinKotta and I get get 2 grown men going at a really good clip and the canoe is plastic which weighs around 75lbs on it's own.

For me anything larger than a 38lb would be a waste of good horsepower.

Yep we use 38lbs in my aluminum and it pushes us around pretty good. I imagine it would be even better on a canoe. :)

BBR, that's a great little set up you have for the ponds.

I enjoyed a little bit of that hound fishing this past summer in NS and really enjoyed myself.

Is your Hound plastic or allumunium?

Dude!!! Contact JustinHoffman, he is selling a very gently used one. It is a higher end model at a lower end price. It has more than enough nads to push around a couple of fatties in a canoe.
