I currantly have a tiller style trolling motor that works just fine. It is a Minn Kota brand. I own a 1468 widebody legend and want to set up a bow mount motor as i have installed a platform in the bow to fish from.

Im trying to decide on the 40Power Drive or the new edge both are 40 lb thrust.

what are your sugestions people? Any one know where i can get a great deal? SO far im looking at LeBarons @ around $480 plus tax for the powerdrive and $430 for the edge.

Slow post this one, not many responses so here's my 10c. I have an 80 power drive now and had the 55 up until last week. The powerdrives are great but not fast to deploy. I prefer the PD foot control when compared the the other models but I guess it's what your used to. Have you considered putting the transom mount up front, I think an adapter is fairly simple to make - and cheaper too.
