un winterizing

hey every1 this is te first time ive had to wake my VERY old 1954 johnson seahorse (10hp) from ehr winter slumber.... anything in particular i should do ive never doone this so ANY tips no matter how simple would be great

replace with new spark plug or clean the old one.

I was told that all you ahve to do is add gas, but then again I just bought a 2004 25hp Mercury. My new (old) 9.9 is in for a tune-up though. That should be fun!

dont forget it will probibly smoke and cough, run rough for a few minutes till the "fogging oil burns away.

Last fall as a preventive maintenance measure I changed the impeler on my 2001 4stroke 40hp Merc for the first time. The old one looked to be in good shape but I am glad I did it - peace of mind -

It only took two of us about an hour. Not a big job.and I am not a mechanic.
