Power for new fishfinder

Post by Fisher Dude »

Hey guys - need some expertise. Looking at two fishfinders. One says power with a 12 volt battery, the other says power with a 10-35 volts. I was hoping to use a 12 volt gel cell battery. What is this 10-35 volt power supply they talk about.

Thanks!

Believe they are just stating the voltage range the unit will operate in. For example the I power the fish finder in my yak with 8 AA batteries which provides around 10 volts. Works fine. I've read on other forums where most finders work with anything over 9 volts.

Yup - I called Gamin today and that is the case it is a range of anything between 10 and 30 volts. Thanks!
