Replacing Boat Cover

My custom cover for my PrinceCraft166 has deteriorated to the point of needing to be replaced (purchased as part of the package when I bought the boat 7 years ago). I want to avoid the expense of replacing it with another custom cover but I don't have any experience with the generic full boat covers that Canadian Tire and other places sell. I want to be able to keep the cover on when trailering. Some of the pictures seem to show that you actually tie the cover to the trailer with a number of separate tie-downs which seems to me to be a big pain every time you want to take the boat out.
Any recommendations for brands or locations to buy would be appreciated. The 166 is a the old model PrinceCraft vhull with full cockpit screen.
The alternatives I had looked at were:
1. Buy another custom cover, get exact fit ($$$).
2. Take old cover to a canvas shop and have a copy made, risk the fit being off ($$).
3. Buy a generic full boat cover, advantage of covering bow to motor ($).
