I have a 1 Gallon of Optimax 2-Cycle Oil http://northamerica.mercurymarine.com/o ... ce/dfi.php

Can I use this oil in my 2000 90HP 2-Cycle or should I try to exchange it for one of these?

Optimax oil is a synthetic blend for high performance use. It is ment to run in outboards that oil inject at 300:1 ratio.
You will have better performance and longer life if you use the semi synthetic blend that mixes at a much lower ratio.
Mercury 2 stroke Plus is Semi Synthetic while the Mercury 2 stroke is conventional oil.
