Im changing engines on a registered fishing boat. Obviously my insurance company must be notified, my registration must reflect the change.

Is there really anything else I should look into when it comes to paper work?

I need to know this info also. If I swap engines with somebody do we have to register any changes. I have a 15hp and I am swapping with somebody that has a 9.9.

No need to update the info unless you are going from a 9.9hp to above a 10hp.
Vessel registration does not list engine make or HP.
