I need some advise as to installing this sensor on my boat.

I run a 2007 legend Xcal with a 115 Opti.

Lowrance recommends this sensor be installed in a vertical position? They also recommend I install a fuel filter before the placement of the sensor?

Im not sure I can install the sensor in a vertical position as my fuel line is the typical rubber flex line? what are your thoughts on this???

:D Not sure of their theory but it must be for proper fuel flow.

Are you installing a filter???Have you seen a water/fuel separator as I belief this is the type of filter they mean. If that is the case then the sensor could be installed vertically after the filter. This type of filter comes with a mounting bracket and a canister type filter. With this mounted on the bulkhead in the boat near the fuel tank you could then mount the sensor vertically and secure it with tie-wraps.

Does this help??? Give me a call if you like.... :D

Thanks mike :D

I have to take a look at the tank and see what im dealing with behind the bulkhead. I can tell you from the bulkhead to the engine is a rubber fuel line. I beleave the OptiMax has a water seperator/ fuel filter inside the engine. So Im sure there is no filters in the tank?

For the extra cost involved I think I will install the canister style water seperator and connect the sensor as recommend my lowrance.

Do I need to worry about this setup and added Presure on the fuel system?

Thanks again for your response :D
